Hands

When Vern was a child, one of his teachers told the class that if an egg was held in the hand longwise, the egg could not be broken by the hand squeezing on it. Vern went home, put an egg in his father's hand and told him to squeeze. His father squeezed the egg and broke it. He then quizically asked so?

Normally this egg theory works, but Vern's father had very strong hands. Vern had the same hands. In General, Hawaiians have strong hands. They can rip phone books in two, and fold bottle caps in half with the thumb and pointer finger. But Vern's hands were unusually strong. He had the inherited strong hands to start with, and then his hands were trained by the martial arts.

In pictures of Vern, his hands always stand out.

Vern was also ambidexterious. In the picture of Vernon on the Humifish Home Page, you should note that his weapon is by his left hand, while his thumbs up signal is given with his right hand.
